You are invited to step back in time to the court of Lord Rhys in 12th century Wales, with readings from authors Luke Waterson and Jean Gill, accompanied by medieval music from “Vacabwndi” (Elsa Davies, Ceri Owen Jones and Jason Lawday.) Vacabwndi will be performing music from Wales on instruments played here in the Middle Ages, the crwth, bray harp and flute. This classic combination of instruments was first described by Gerald of Wales in the thirteenth century, and will take us back to the dynamic soundscape of Medieval Wales. Song_hereafter_eBcov

The former Labour MP, Cabinet Minister and Speaker was arguably the most divisive figure in twentieth-century Welsh politics, who transformed from a radical young socialist to Viscount Tonypandy.
