Catrin 3.jpgWe’re thrilled to announce that author and scriptwriter CATRIN COLLIER, also known as KATHERINE JOHN, CARO FRENCH, KATHERINE HARDY  or KA JOHN will be joining Rob Gittins and Julian Dutton for our event:

What is the difference between writing a book and writing for film or TV? What are the dynamics, the joys and pitfalls, advantages and disadvantages? Catrin will be joining two writers who should know: Julian Dutton and Rob Gittins, both writing for the screen as well as working on books. They will talk about their experiences and take questions from the audience,

12901384_1188457081166280_2343463133031679247_oThe Tanabe film, By Any Name, scripted from Catrin’s ‘Katherine John’ crime book, By Any Name, written as Katherine John, filmed in her native Wales starring Cengiz Dervis, Samira Mohammed Ali and Dan Richardson is set for international release in 2017.  She  is juggling further scripts in development as well as novels.

She has published over 50 best selling novels worldwide including 3 Quick Reads; in English and translation. She has had three stage plays professionally performed. Her first Catrin Collier novel, Hearts of Gold filmed as a mini series by BBC Worldwide, attracted an audience of 6.8 million viewers when shown on UK network TV.

TY CATRIN, an Adult Education Centre in Rhondda Cynon Taff, named after Catrin Collier, was opened in February, 2003.

Her Orion novel, One Last Summer, based on the war time diaries of her Prussian born mother and grandmother is recommended reading for adults by the Holocaust Day Memorial Trust.

Her name as Catrin Collier was added to the “Ponty Proud board in the Museum in her native Pontypridd in 2016.
